'The suburbs' vince il titolo di Miglior Album dell'Anno ai Grammys 2011

Ieri notte allo Staples Center di Los Angeles si è svolta la cerimonia di premiazione dei 53esimi Grammy Awards. A regnare sono state due signore (in qualche modo): la popstar Lady Gaga e la band Lady Antebellum. Il celebre gruppo country ha trionfato nella categoria Canzone dell'Anno con "Need You Now" e incassato una seconda statuetta come migliore album country. Il ciclone Lady Gaga invece ha vinto come Miglior Album Pop grazie a "The Fame Monster" e come Migliore Perfomance Vocale Solista con "Bad Romance". Il premio più ambito, quello di Miglior Album dell'Anno, è andato invece ai canadesi Arcade Fire con "The Suburbs", mentre i Muse hanno visto per Miglior Album Rock con "The Resistance", Eminem invece si è portato a casa due premi per Miglior Album Rap e Miglior Performance Solista Rap. Un premio è andato anche all'italiano Riccardo Muti per Miglior Album Classico dell'anno con "La Messa da Requiem" di Giuseppe Verdi eseguita dalla Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Molte e strabilianti le performance live nel corso della serata: tra i tanti artisti si sono esibiti Lady Antebellum e Lady Gaga, Eminem, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Drake e Justin Bieber.
